Hey ABACUS!
My name is Karina, a first-year Biochemistry student 👩🔬. Being Korean but having spent most of my life in Malaysia, I understand the challenge of finding a community that feels like home. Fortunately, when I came across ABACUS, it instantly became one of my safe spaces throughout (the stressful) first year in university - truly a home away from home.
With a strong connection to ABACUS, I had the opportunity to work as a first-year representative among the committee, giving me insight into the planning and dedication behind every single event. With that experience and determination, I aim to contribute to ABACUS as your next Publicity Officer.
To me, being part of a committee isn’t just about organising and executing events - it's about creating lasting memories and shaping how people remember ABACUS. Therefore, with me as Publicity, ABACUS’s promotion will be more interactive, aesthetic, and active.
- Creative and consistent content - Monthly recap posts, behind-the-scenes from events, “committee takes over Instagram”, day in the life of ABAFAM features...and more to come.
- A more aesthetic feed - Utilising my graphic design experience to create a cohesive & eye-catching Instagram account.
- Stronger engagement - Fun reel trends with committee and members (because I have to utilise my reel addiction somewhere…).
- Capturing every moment - Working as your photographer at every event, documenting all the fun and laughs! (certified by my friends as the best photographer btw 😋).
