Serena Yerusalmi

Hi everyone! I’m Serena, a first year Economics, Finance and Data Science student. It had not even been a week since I arrived in London when Turkish Society welcomed me with open arms during the famous welcome pub crawl and immediately made the city feel like home. I felt the warmth and familiarity of this community from the start, which is exactly why I would love to become a bigger part of the society next year. I want to ensure that the incoming first years feel just as welcomed and included as I did.

I hope to continue the traditions that make Turkish society so special, such as Rakı Nights, our iconic pub crawls and celebrations for our national holidays. At the same time, I would love to organise padel and football tournaments, as well as day trips outside London with other Turkish societies, creating more opportunities for Turkish students to connect. Studying at such a challenging university means we all need moments to relax, enjoy ourselves, and feel at home within our community. As Social Secretary next year, I am eager to create events where everyone feels welcome, connected, and able to make great memories together.
