Electrical Engineering: Vice President (Events)

Hey! I’m Srihari and I’m running to be your Vice President for Events.

What do I aim to achieve as VP Events and how?

Great events are at the heart of building an inclusive community and they allow us to unwind, and make memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

I aim to make our events more inclusive by organising events that are less expensive at a more frequent scale so more people are able to access them.

Through collaborating with other departments for larger scale events, we can have events that are more enjoyable whilst reducing the cost per head.

In addition, I want to run fundraisers throughout the year in order to subsidise the cost of events.

In order to facilitate more frequent events, I will create an events team rather than leaving the job of running events to just 2 people. Through this, we can have more events and reduce the amount of stress that goes into organising an event.

What experience do I have?

I thoroughly enjoyed my time as Wellbeing Rep and worked with the department to organise post-midterm hot chocolates for my year. Outside of university, I volunteer at the European Youth Parliament and organise public speaking events throughout Europe.

I want EESoc to have so many great events that it’s difficult to pick your favourite. I’m more than happy to listen to any event ideas you have, and I’ll do my best to bring them to life!
