Oscar McCoach

Biology: Secretary

I am running for Secretary because I want to help Biological Sciences run smoothly, efficiently, and in a way that genuinely supports students.

Secretary is about making things work. Keeping communication clear, events organised, and responsibilities aligned. I see this role as being a servant to the society, supporting both the committee and students directly, making sure queries are answered, voices are heard, and their experience is the best it can be.

I bring leadership, organisation, and operational experience from my sixth form and beyond. I was President of my sixth form Biology Society, adjudicating meetings, organising science outreach events, and coordinating members to ensure events ran effectively. I was Publicity Officer for my school’s rugby team, handling team logistics, training schedules, fixtures, referees, and coaches, and managing email correspondence with students and external organisations professionally. I also served as a Biology mentor for lower school students and managed social media for three cancer charities, collectively reaching hundreds of thousands of followers.

If elected, I will keep committee communication organised, support all officers, coordinate events from planning to execution, and ensure student queries are answered promptly. I will create clarity and structure so nothing falls through the cracks, while genuinely supporting the society and its students.

I am used to managing deadlines, event sign-ups, attendance tracking, and creating order. I want to help all facets of the Biological Sciences society run at their best.

Vote Oscar McCoach for Secretary.
