Electrical Engineering: Events Officer

Why I’m Running

Having completed my first year here at Imperial I’ve seen firsthand how much value a well-organized event can add to our learning and giving us a wider appreciation for where we apply ourselves in industry.. From attending industry-led company talks to competing in high-pressure environments like ICHack, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the opportunities we get here at Imperial. I want to step up as Events Officer to ensure these opportunities are more frequent, accessible, and impactful for every student.

On top of this, I have loved attending the social events ran by EEESoc too and believe them to be just as important as the academic ones, I want to help bring you more events to mix with each other and meet new people in the department! (They call me Mr.Gatsby)

Experience & Vision I’m not coming into this role empty-handed. Having previously led my school’s engineering club, I have experience managing budgets, coordinating logistics for larger events and have the grit to make events work.

My Plan for the Year I will focus on:

  • Industry Integration: Increasing the frequency of company talks to bridge the gap between our lectures and future careers.

  • More Competitions: Introducing a variety of mini-challenges and hackathons throughout the year to sharpen our practical skills.

  • Community Engagement: Ensuring our events are inclusive and cater to all year groups, from freshers to postgraduates.

I have the energy, the experience, and a clear vision to make this year our most active one yet.
