Aaroh Jain

Hello!

I'm Aaroh Jain, a 2nd Year in Materials, and I'm running for General Committee Member this year!

A little bit about me: I was born in India but I've grown up in the Republic of Ireland since I was one year old so I am in the weird overlapping portion of a Venn diagram between both cultures. I love to roller-skate and I also can be found in the ICRS Lab 3D printing bits and bobs I design or find online.

I joined SkateSoc since spring term 1st year and I've been there ever since. When I joined I had absolutely no experience skating at all, but everyone was really kind and with the regular sessions on Wednesdays and Saturdays, I improved fast. I've really enjoyed my time at the sessions, playing roller hockey and just chit-chatting while rolling around. Everyone has been really kind and welcoming.

So I feel like its about time I helped out the Committee in running the society. I'm hoping to take a bit of the burden off the other Committee members and act as a flexible support for them. Whether they need an extra hand doing admin, carrying skates or just buying lime sodas for our society, I aim to be there to make life easier for everyone.
