Physics: Social Secretary

Physicists are not exactly known for being the most sociable individuals… however, we are so much more than the stereotypes suggest. As a society, we are more than capable of gaining a reputation for being a highly enjoyable community to be part of - we just need someone who will (hint - WILL) unlock our social potential. How about someone who built an indesputable leadership record at Imperial by spending a year in the same position organising socials for Imperial’s prestigious and (surprisingly to some of those who aren't familiar with it) fun-loving Symphony Orchestra, then went out of their way to serve as outreach secretary for Imperial Marrow all the way from Lausanne during their year abroad? Or maybe someone who is committed to organising family events throughout the year to boost mentorship and smoothen the transition to university life for first years (as well as strongly discouraging the practice of abandoning your physics children after the first week, if not before)? Perhaps we should vote for the most approachable and omnipresent candidate, with a seemingly limitless breadth of connections across the department, who will (WILL) undoubtedly bring fresh ideas and a friendly smile to the position - attempting to build a reputation for Physoc as a society where our community thrives inside and outside LT1. I wonder who WILL be able to work tirelessly in order to do all of the above, and much more?

Where there’s a Will, there’s a way.
