Hello, I’m Yasser—a Women’s 1V rower and Goodest Boy awardee. With your vote, I hope to be your next ICBC Social Secretary.

I plan to continue many of the things Rex implemented well this year: ACC costumes, sports night, the pub quiz, and (most importantly) TOGA. Toga has become one of the biggest points of contention between coaches and rowers, second only to Finn vs Dave about Sveti. I believe I can continue its legacy and decide its new location, using what sets me apart from other Social Secs: I do not drink. This means the coaches can trust I will never throw up on Dave's shoes during Toga (which, of course, no one has ever actually done).

What will I do differently? I plan to involve the novice squad (especially the women) much more next year. Unlike my opponent, who doesn't know half the women's names, I’ll use my W8+ membership to boost women’s squad presence at socials and create more women-friendly events—which don’t JUST involve Gilstead Rd kissing each other (they can still do that, of course), especially on Wednesday sports nights. I'll also be on time for my own socials.

I also plan to have more socials with other rowing clubs, not just UL (no hate towards the Adeyemis or Elliot), to liven up the social calendar a little and meet rowers from other clubs. I’ve already met and made connections with social secretaries from other clubs at the BUCS Head afterparty.
