Jude Smith

I am a second year theoretical physics student. I have a part time pub job I’ve worked throughout uni and am the current M4’s (DEIVIANTS) finesmaster and (through difficult circumstance) captain. I joined at the end of my first term on a whim, and it was one of the best choices I’ve made because, while I’m not particularly good at hockey, I’ve had the opportunity to meet the most wonderful people I’ve met. Every second I’ve spent as a member has made me a better person and I want desperately to give back whatever I can so other people get a better experience.

My time as captain and finesmaster have prepared me for the role. I have successfully planned a national and international tour for my team, a social after every game, organised friendly matches and led our team to our first win in 2 YEARS. In order to achieve this without impacting my job or degree, I’d have to be a very organised person. I have prior experience organising meetings, general admin, planning large events, due to my time in secondary school as a head of the CCF (cadets). I was in charge of equipment, logging absences, planning our annual dinner and army camps (100+ people). Additionally, I host a VERY good night out (ask anyone who has ever seen me at an ACC). For these reasons and more, I would be the best choice for Honorary sec, as my admiration for every member of this club is immeasurable.
