Nadine Yip

Hii I’m Nadine (girl on left), currently a first year doing materials! I’ve only started climbing this year but it has been so much fun meeting people in ICMC. I’ve been bouldering and now getting into roping. Like most people, climbing appeals to me through its combination of brains and brawn, and how you get to see progress in real time (the feeling when you realise your grip strength is levelling up). I’ve had a great time at ICMC so far and would love to give back to the community by running for Treasurer. Why vote for me? I am committed to bringing in more funding, more trips (/longer ones), more fun. I’ve also been in finance-related roles for clubs and student council before so I have experience in managing budgets, tracking spending and making sure we stay on target, even save enough to make bigger events possible. One initiative I have in mind is a big holiday trip, or longer week trips, which would require meticulous expenditure planning, which I am the perfect candidate for this job. Committee members will also be encouraged to get involved and chip in ideas for future trips (so that expenditure can be planned in advance). I am also aware that the current committee are big bakers, so as someone currently refining my baking skills, I fully intend to keep the tradition alive.
