Harold Ju

I am a dedicated member of the Men’s Third Team with over 5 years of fencing experience, and I am standing for Treasurer to help our club grow both on and off the piste. Fencing has been a central part of my life, from captaining the Shrewsbury School fencing team to competing at national level in both the UK and China. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how a successful club functions and what fencers need to thrive.

I am an actively engaged member of the squad: I train regularly, support teammates at matches, and always try to build a positive, inclusive atmosphere. I listen to people’s concerns, celebrate their successes, and work to keep everyone involved and informed. I want the committee to feel accessible and responsive, not distant.

I bring practical financial and organisational experience from similar leadership roles, where I have managed budgets, coordinated events, and ensured teams had the resources they needed. As Treasurer, I will be transparent, organised, and approachable, making sure every pound is spent to benefit members.

My strong connections with both domestic and international kit suppliers put me in a unique position to negotiate better deals on equipment and team kit. I will also prioritise faster processing of travel reimbursements, so members are not left out of pocket after supporting the club at away fixtures and competitions.

I am passionate about this club and fully committed to serving you as Treasurer.
