Orchestra - Symphony: Treasurer

I am currently in my first year at Imperial, studying Maths, and am standing for the position of Treasurer for ICSO. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the orchestra and have also sung in the choir and helped with the Sinfonietta this year.

I am keen to get more involved in the running of ICSO and to have an input into the future direction of the orchestra. I also want to take on the responsibility that is incumbent with the position of Treasurer, such as keeping accurate records of all transactions. I would ensure the society’s funds are managed prudently: maximising their impact through providing a variety of socials.

Most of my life has been spent playing in orchestras. In the Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra, I was principal clarinet and jointly won the Gough Award for ‘outstanding progress and valuable contribution', and last year I got to perform two tours with NYO culminating in the Proms.

I have always gained so much from the social as well as musical side of orchestral life, and know how important it is to have this creative outlet alongside studying. I would relish the opportunity to give something back as Treasurer for ICSO.
