Hey! I'm Adam, one of your Academic Events Coordinators this year. You might recognise me from lunchtime talks, 101 events, or Programming Utilities lectures, and I was also a Team Lead for the Hacker Education team at IC Hack 26.
Staying on committee as Treasurer feels like a natural next step. I've seen first-hand how the Union sponsorship and contract process works, and I know where the friction points are. With a budget over £300,000, DoCSoc needs a Treasurer who's on top of things: chasing contracts early, getting money into the bank before it's urgently needed, and ensuring refunds are processed quickly when things go wrong.
My main goals: get sponsorship signed earlier in the year so we can plan more events without financial uncertainty, and speed up the refunds process so you're not waiting around if something goes wrong with tickets or merch.
