It is truly a shame to witness MathSoc’s budget, or rather, the lack thereof.
Everyone, JMC in particular, knows the night and day difference between a MathSoc and a DocSoc funded event, be that academic talks, social events or competitions. Maths students deserve no less.
Here’s what I’ll do:
- Sponsors: given the skill level of Imperial mathematicians, the society has an incredibly disproportionate number of sponsors. I’ll work closely with other members of the society to pitch to quant, fintech, etc. and ensure our income increases.
- Strategic budgeting: not a single penny will be wasted. I’ll implement a transparent system to ensure money is funneled into impactful events.
- Food: expect food and drinks at every single event. It’s as simple as that.
- Coordinate: hopefully reading some of these manifestos gives you an idea of the incredible changes which await MathSoc. I will act as a financial enabler to turn the committee's ambitious ideas into fully funded realities with rigorous cash management and strategic resource allocation.
- Include You: this society is here for you. I’ll be open to everyone’s suggestions and be accountable for my decision making.
