Astronomy: Treasurer

Hi! This is Yibo, a first-year student from the Department of Earth Science and Engineering. You've probably seen me carrying my smart telescope during stargazing events, or browsed the photos I've taken in the WhatsApp groupchat!

As an amateur astrophotographer who has built multiple deep-sky setups, I know how to balance cost with performance. Astronomy, especially the amateur astronomy such as stargazing, is an expensive persuit. Every stargazer persues the best performance, and my aim is to cooperate with all of you to realise this persuit with best budget options. Having founded my high school’s Earth Science Club and worked as a consultant for my high school's observatory refurbish scheme, I know how to manage complex plans, coordinate resources, and stretch a budget to pull off ambitious events.

I will work directly with the committee to ensure our funds go toward high-impact equipment upgrades and vital maintenance. By tapping into my network, I will prioritise budgeting for travel subsidies so our stargazing trips remain cheap and accessible for all members. I will aggressively pursue Student Union grants and external funding to support larger joint-society events and hands-on tutorials, ensuring we can do more without raising your membership fees. I'll devote myself into making stars accessible for everyone!

P.S. Welcome to my iStarShooter homepage for more photos: https://www.istarshooter.com/user/73238 ! By clicking into any photos you like (and use a translator), you'll be able to see the exact equipments I've used.
