Hi everyone, I’m Funbi, and I’m a 2nd year EEE student.
I’m running for ACS treasurer as I believe this society means too much to all of us to let our ambition be limited by our bank balance. Whether you’re a fresher or a final year, we’ve all seen the impact that ACS has. To keep our events high-quality and high-impact, we need an impeccable financial plan behind the scenes.
As treasurer, I won’t be here to ‘practice’ on our budget. I’ve already spent time in high-pressure financial environments - from navigating the rigour of J.P.Morgan’s selection process to winning hackathons in quant firms.
I’ll bring that same level of scrutiny and detail to this role. I’ve learnt how to forecast, spot leaks in budgets, and ensure that every pound is working for you.
The plan:
- Communication at the forefront: I’ve seen how societies can overspend when the team isn’t on the same page. I plan to have total transparency, making sure we never have to scale back events last minute.
- Reliability for the team: My job is to handle the variables - the budget tracking and the paperwork - so the rest of the team can focus on the vision. I’ll be the backbone that ensures that we can say yes to our most ambitious ideas.
