Gliding: Equipment Officer

I am Harry, year 1 Aeronautical Engineering, and I am running for the Equipment Officer role in Imperial College Gliding Club 2026-2027.

I believe equipment safety and availability are the most important concern for gliding. No one likes to be flying a faulty glider, and obviously, you need a well maintained glider to glide in the first place. As a AeroEng student, I'm confident that my enthusiasm in planes allow me to spot abnormalties with ease and ensure everything is checked and safe for operations. With me as the Equipment Officer, I will be sure that the fleet of gliders will be all ready for operations with the annual checks done, batteries charged, and parachutes in perfect condition so you can have peace in your mind when flying, knowing that there's always a backup. Everything will also be well organised at where they should be and documented with my meticulous and organized mind. I will also make sure everything is insured just in case anything goes wrong.
