Michael Porat

Hello boardgamers, magic the gatherers, LARPers, TTRPG players, and anyone and everyone else who may read this. My name is Michael, and this year I am running as your chair for tabletop society! I am a current second year materials science and engineering student, and very much a boardgame enthusiast. Over the past year and a half, you may have seen me at the weekly Monday boardgames sessions, Friday blood on the clocktower sessions, Thursday MTG sessions (although I have not been to many this year unfortunately), running a oneshot, or you're in my DND group (shout-out to you guys :D).

As chair, I want to organise more collaborative events with other societies and universities, while also trying to start bringing some 'lost' sessions within our society back (looking at LARP mostly). I want to make our society as welcoming as possible to new members, and involve new activities for our current members to get excited for (and if you just want to play Jake games every Monday, you can do that too). I want to involve the society members more clearly in purchases and in event running. Finally, I want to set up a society Instagram page. We still don't have one and it would be quite fun if we did have one.
