Arigaran Chandramohan
Hi, I am Ari and I have been doing taekwondo for 16 years now and I have competed across all levels of WT sparring whether that be c class sparring at local competitions to representing team Gb and being ranked top 20 in Europe.
Throughout all this, I have learned how important the environment around you is and that the best progress happens when training is challenging, supportive, and enjoyable.
As president my goal is simple, to create an environment where people have fun whilst achieving their goals.
If elected, I want to focus on three key things:
- Stronger club culture — introducing a voluntary buddy system pairing new members with experienced athletes for their first weeks, giving beginners guidance, support, and help settling.
- More opportunities — organising in-house match days and structured competition-style sparring to give members valuable experience in a supportive environment while exploring opportunities to collaborate with other universities.
- Clear structure and respect — maintaing high training standards and respect whilst keeping sessions fun.
As someone who has been in the British taekwondo circuit for a while,I’ve seen firsthand how successful teams operate. Myself playing an active role in organising and preparing athletes for tournaments at my own club. I believe the best teams are the ones where people train hard, respect each other and the coaches, and actually look forward to coming to training.
I want to help build that environment here where everyone improves together and takes pride in being part of the team.
