Apollo Yang
Dear fellow students,
I’m Apollo Yang, a Biomedical Engineering student and current CSSA Chief Secretary. Over the past year, I delivered our Mid-Autumn mooncake activity and led the co-organising team with CGCU for Imperial’s Chinese New Year Celebration. I’m running for CSSA President because many of us feel CSSA has lost its focus: too much friction, too little delivery, and too many “grey areas”. I want to bring CSSA back to a society you can trust and be proud of.
If elected, I will:
- Bring CSSA back to life with realistic, recurring activities: an undergrad/newcomer welcome series, monthly small socials (tea, games, sports), and a strengthened festival calendar (Mid-Autumn & Spring Festival) with better volunteer support.
-
Set a clean baseline: all money, sponsorship and approvals through ICU rules; no off-book arrangements; clear conflict-of-interest expectations; post-event budget summaries.
-
Rebuild trust & democracy: fair elections, clear timelines, equal publicity access, and open Q&A at AGM—no drama, just process.
-
Communicate properly: a termly roadmap, short bilingual updates, and a single official channel for decisions so rumours can’t run the society.
CSSA should feel warm, professional, and member-first. If you want a reset with real delivery, I’d be honoured to earn your vote.
Sincerely,
Apollo Yang
