Roger Bacardit Flotats
Hey everyone, I’m Roger. I’m running for President of FinSoc because I want the society to feel more active and more social for everyone, whether you’re here to learn about finance, meet people, or go for Spring Weeks and internships.
FinSoc has a lot of potential, the only thing it's missing is consistency. The best societies stay active across the whole year and that is my goal: to make FinSoc the place you turn up to regularly and meet great people, always having learnt something.
If elected, I will:
Make FinSoc consistent
- Clear monthly plan published early so you can see what’s coming and pick what suits you
- Regular weekly/fortnightly events that are easy to drop into
Work closer with sponsors and firms
- More interactive speaker and networking nights
- Work with our sponsors and contacts (e.g. Rothschild, Houlihan Lokey, and others) to bring more Q&As and workshops
Make FinSoc more social
- More regular socials (casual meet-ups, mixers, post-event drinks)
- One big formal each year (FinSoc Ball / Formal Dinner)
- Better collabs with other societies to bring everyone together
Big highlight events
- Examples: Office visits/insight trips, Deal/Markets Sprint with prizes
Having been at pretty much every FinSoc event this year, I know what works and what doesn’t. If elected, I’ll make sure FinSoc runs regularly across the year, with a better social side and a stronger sense of community.
Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto, and I hope to earn your vote!
