Snow Sun
Hello everyone, I'm Snow.
Having been your year-one well-being rep for almost 2 terms now, and somewhere between meetings, feedback forms, and a steady amount of academic chaos, I actually want to keep doing this, just on a bigger scale.
Over the past year, I have the honour of being involved in a pretty much full range of issues, a lot of feedback, a lot of incidents, and a lot of translating student stress into something staff can actually act on. From regular meetings, to gathering and reporting feedback for incidents like our IDS final, fighting for the potential extra percent of mark, to helping the department soc with the planning of social events, working with budgets that are fine but never generous — I’ve been involved, and I’ve enjoyed it.
Being a rep means lots of talking, meetings, forms, and small talks. If I get this role, I’ll do what I’ve been doing, just on a bigger scale: if something needs attention, I’ll raise it. If it needs pushing, I’ll push. And if the answer isn’t ideal, I’ll make sure it’s at least explained properly.
I’ll be approachable, organised, and direct. You won’t need to chase me, and you won’t need to guess what’s happening, and mostly, I want people in the department to feel like there’s at least one person they can talk to who will actually act on it, not just nod sympathetically.
That’s basically it.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for considering me.
