Hi everyone,

I'm Ollie, and I'm running to serve as the Clubs and Societies Officer for the CGCU for next year.

Most of my motivation and experience for this role derives from my experience serving in the Space Society's committee for the last two years, first as the Rocket Engine Project Lead and this year as the Chair. Particularly in my role as the chair I've developed an understanding of the systems surrounding the running of a CSP: planning events and trips, how to approach fundraising and sponsorships, how to strengthen and grow a society, and of course all of the logistics and many proposals, assessments and budgets that must be submitted in conducting these tasks.

For that reason, I believe I have gathered useful know-how to approach this role which hinges on supporting fellow CGCU CSPs in many of these processes that I've experienced.

Furthermore, I belive strongly in the idea of improvement of the current CSP systems, both by advocating for CSPs and relaying their thoughts in frequent meetings with union representatives, but also by contributing improvements and ideas that have arisen from my own experience leading a CSP. As an extension of this, from my time leading a CSP and forming relationships with other CGCU CSPs, I have a good understanding of what issues plague other CSPs most and what changes are commonly desired, such that I could now help seek them out.
