Hello everyone! My name is Tengyu, and I would love to be your Welfare Vice Chair for Campaigns this year. Wellbeing essential to ensuring a happy university experience and beyond, and I believe it is so important for students to access the support they need. Having worked with SU, Faculty, and student reps as a year group representative last year, I’ve learnt so much about the ICSMSU community and would love to contribute further!
In my roles as a deputy BMA and elected yeargroup representative, I have been actively involved in ICSMSU: seeking out your opinions, being a friendly face, and listening ear. I’ve supported the management of >£40,000 in events budget as Halls Treasurer, worked as Vice-Chair setting fortnightly meeting agendas, and have experience planning inclusive events including Chinese New Year brunch, Scavenger hunts, and Sports events.
In this role, I would want to:
- Strengthen and continue the Blooms campaign in January, increasing its visibility and making everyone feel welcome
- Further develop communications by updating the ICSMSU Welfare Instagram page, regularly sharing opportunities available
- Increase understanding of the incredible work that the Welfare stream does to ensure students are aware of support available
- Listen carefully to your voice - you make ICSM the amazing place it is
My experience as a Graphic Designer in Surgical Society means that I understand the blend of creativity and organisation. I would love to represent what you believe in, and it would be an honour to serve as the Welfare Vice-Chair for Campaigns!
