Eletta Bonelli
Hi there, fellow chemists!
My name is Eletta - I'm a first-year student who is determined to improve the well-being of my fellow Chemistry cohort. I aim to tackle the burnout and stress at Imperial through precautionary measures and finding ways to make burnout recovery easier. I know what it's like to have a lot of stressors whilst trying to manage my degree, and I want to clear an easier path for everyone who follows. After all, we all perform better when we aren't overwhelmed.
If elected, I would campaign with the elected departmental rep for live-streamed lectures, as I believe that this may help students who struggle with their mental health have stay at home days whilst being able to complete their work/learning in real time ; even if someone doesn't have the energy to come in, they don't need to fall behind.
Furthermore, I would implement an anonymous mental-health feedback survey for each year group so I can provide feedback to staff directly.
I also know the importance of physical exercise and eating well in maintaining well-being. Therefore, I will campaign for the availability of subsidised exercise-based activities within the year to try to boost the general mood. I will also try to collaborate with ChemSoc to run healthy cooking classes for beginners, with stresses on basic techniques to make easy, tasty food.
Ultimately, I'll be here to make your experience better - if I win, I will do my best to balance everyone's voices.
Thank you for reading!
