Hi everyone!

I'm Lara, a 5th-year medical student, hoping to be your next Academic Officer for Clinical Years!

Having completed almost two of the clinical years so far, I have experienced a large variety of placements throughout the range of specialities (often gastro lol) and hospitals we have. During these, I have noticed how much teaching and resources can vary depending on which placement you have. Therefore, as Academic Officer, I would like to work towards creating a more centralised hub of placement-specific teaching and resources to ensure that all students can equally access the same high-quality learning materials (especially for exam-relevant specialities teaching) and make the most of their placements, no matter where they are.

I would also like to continue developing and refining the clinical notebank, along with yearly guides containing a compilation of useful resources (such as exam guides or textbooks) at the start of each year and any further advice, as I know how daunting these clinical years can sometimes be.

I would love to have this opportunity to make sure your voices are heard amongst faculty and continue to work towards improving everyone's academic experiences throughout these long clinical years!
