Heeeyyy, I’m Nina and I’m running to be your Academic Officer for Clinical Years 🩺

Over the past year on the ICSMSU I’ve developed the skills, confidence and experience needed to represent students properly and get things done. Alongside this, I’ve spent several years organising some of the biggest events at ICSM, from being Halfway Dinner Chair to my current role as ICSMSU Entertainment Chair, as well as organising UH Sports Night and working with large committees across multiple teams. Managing these events has meant coordinating big groups of people, handling logistics, communicating clearly and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Through these roles I’ve grown hugely in my communication, speaking and advocacy skills. I’ve also built strong relationships with faculty. These are exactly the skills that translate into the role of Academic Officer for Clinical Years, whether that’s organising large student-led mocks or effectively advocating for student voices when change is needed.

I’m also not new to the academic side of things. Over the years I’ve helped out with MedEd/SU mocks and lecture series, so I already understand what goes into organising them. I’m confident I can help organise something even better and make sure clinical students continue to get the support they need.

I care deeply about improving the clinical years experience and making sure students feel heard. With my experience, organisation and commitment, I truly believe I’m the best person for the role.
