Serena Corry
Hello, I am Serena, a third year medical student. I am running for the role of council chair as I would like the opportunity to work to support the Union in providing a better experience to all students. I have experience in previous clubs and society roles including Chair of Law Society. As part of this I have organised events and obtained society sponsorship from leading firms including Magic Circle firms to help students explore new career opportunities. Outside of university, I have also helped organise and lead national law conferences, last year the conference had over 300 attendees. I am very interested in policy and how systems can better serve the people they represent as such I have undertaken roles in the Imperial branch of the Students for Global Health Society including Vice-Chair. This has enabled me to think more critically about the process by which policies are devised and enacted. If elected to this role, I would ensure that everyone on the Board of Trustees has their voice heard and that all conversations are productive and prioritise the needs of students. I understand that studying can be stressful and there are varying demands placed on students that we have to balance in addition to our academic work and would like to do what I can to help ease these pressures.
