Heyy, my name is Iolanthe and I'm running to be your Deputy President!
Over the last two years, I have been very involved in ICSMSU, fulfilling the roles of Vice Chair and subsequently Chair of the Welfare Stream. Within this time, I have really understood the intricacies, concerns and values of our ICSM community and contributed to helping both societies and individuals access support, advice and help. The role of Dep Pres follows this same mindset, supporting and guiding our SU members to indirectly support ICSM.
Within this role, I aim to actively and continuously support and check-in on our SU, having seen firsthand each of the roles, with knowledge of their big projects and aims. I will aid in transitioning projects to the incoming SU, continuing their progress, and welcoming new members. I will take a focused, tailored approach to understanding their passions, motivations, aims and individual goals: from Mocks and Welfare campaigns, to Freshers' events and Alumni networks. These projects keep ICSM thriving, and are critical to our student experience - I aim to actively and reliably provide a helping hand to SU through these projects, with ample experience interacting with students and faculty.
Like Welfare Chair, Dep Pres is a pastoral role, focused on guidance, profound care for our ICSM family, and trust. It involves being an active member of the team, ready to step in when required and with the knowledge to do so. I believe I have all these qualities, and would make an ideal candidate!
