RSMU: Treasurer

Hello,

During my time in RSM, I have been a Dep Rep, Geophysics soc presdient, and a year rep.

I have also been a member of departmental teaching commitee, SSCC, RSMA/RSMU commitee

In these roles, I was able to create tangible, meaningful change.

What I've delivered so far:

  • Common Room refurbishment
    • I worked closely with ICU, making ESE the first departments to successfully upgrade our space based on student feedback
  • Revival of Geophysics society
    • I reactived this previously dormant soc, transforming into a floursihing, active community
  • Greater assessment transparency
    • As a dep rep, I brought past year exam feedback to ESESIS, improving clarity and exam preparation
  • Improved communication
    • we have also started the student newsletter to better communicate changes made because of you!
  • Secured funding for Geophysics Society
    • As the president, I have obtained funding from the RSMA, ESE and a sponsor

MY AIM MOVING FORWARD

  • Financially accessible RSMU
    • Cost of living in London has gone up by 21% in the last four years - Absolutely diabolical!
    • I will try to make sure that RSMU events stay as cheap as possible without impacting our finances
  • Continuing our excellent bond with the RSMA
    • We are extremely fortunate to have such generous alumni supporting the RSMU
    • Their contribution has lowered our dinner prices and bus tickets to Harlington
    • I will work towards keeping this mutually beneficial relationship for future generations
  • Sustainable & responsible spending
    • Our money shouldn't be wasted!!!
    • Instead, it should be used as efficiently as possible, to maximise the outcome
