I’m running for Treasurer because I really value what ISCMSU offers—practical teaching, supportive community, great events, and opportunities that genuinely shape people’s careers—and I’d like to contribute to that in a way that plays to my strengths. I’m organised, steady, and comfortable working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. I’ve balanced academic work with part‑time jobs throughout my degree, so I’m used to managing money carefully, planning ahead, and keeping track of details even when things get busy.
As president of two charitable societies this year (Friends of MSF and Global Brigades) and Treasurer of Fellwanderers (Imperials Hiking Society), I have lots of experience mannaging finances- and making every penny count!
As ISCMSU Treasurer, I’d focus on keeping our finances clear, reliable, and easy for the committee to work with. That means transparent budgeting, timely reimbursements, and making sure we use our resources in a way that supports high‑quality teaching and skills events. I’d also work closely with the rest of the committee to plan realistic budgets for workshops, conferences, and collaborations, so we can keep offering opportunities that are accessible and well‑organised.
I’m not running because I want to make big promises—I just want to help ISCMU stay financially stable, well‑coordinated, and able to deliver the kind of events that make people feel excited about surgery. I’d be grateful for the chance to support the society in a practical, dependable way.
