LGBTQ+ Students: Postgraduate Officer

I’m running for LGBTQ+ Students: Postgraduate Officer because I deeply care about the wellbeing and sense of belonging of every queer student on campus. Postgraduate life can often feel demanding and isolating, and I want to make sure that every LGBTQ+ student feels seen, supported, and valued in both their academic and personal journey. My goal is to build a stronger, kinder, and more connected community where support, pride, and solidarity are at the heart of our experience.

If elected, I’ll focus on improving wellbeing and mental health support that genuinely reflects queer experiences—through peer support circles, safe discussion spaces, and stronger links to accessible counselling. I want to push for consistent use of chosen names and pronouns across all university systems, and ensure that trans and non-binary students have equal access to inclusive facilities and resources. Visibility matters, and I’ll work to highlight LGBTQ+ voices in research, leadership, and campus life through storytelling campaigns and celebratory events.

Most importantly, I’ll make space for joy and connection—organising inclusive gatherings, workshops, and creative initiatives that bring us together not just in advocacy, but in celebration. My approach will be compassionate, collaborative, and action-driven. I’ll listen to what our community truly needs and make sure every decision reflects that. Together, we can create a postgraduate environment where every LGBTQ+ student feels safe, empowered, and proud to be exactly who they are.
