As a PhD student in Infectious Diseases researching cytomegalovirus in children with HIV, including upcoming fieldwork in South Africa, I am passionate about fostering collaboration, learning and engagement within our postgraduate community. My academic journey has enabled me to work across both research and global health settings, which I believe will help me bring fresh ideas and meaningful connections to the society.
I aim to strengthen postgraduate participation by organising networking events, panel discussions and topic-focused seminars that encourage collaboration across different infectious disease disciplines. Drawing on my international links, I hope to invite speakers who can provide unique global perspectives on research and practice. I also plan to develop training opportunities that explore life beyond academia, supporting members who wish to apply their scientific skills in diverse career paths.
As a scholar, I would also like to provide talks and informal sessions for those interested in pursuing postgraduate studies, offering guidance and insight from my own experience. I am approachable and enthusiastic, and I look forward to hearing members’ ideas and supporting their personal and professional growth within this vibrant community.
