Physics: Magazine Officer

Hi, I’m Jia Ying, a second-year Physics student who loves writing, design, and the chaos that happens when physicists try to be creative.

I see the magazine as more than just pages: it’s a snapshot of who we are as a department. My vision is to make it engaging, inclusive, and genuinely fun to read. Here’s how:

  • Showcase voices – highlight student work, lab projects, and research in ways that are accessible, creative, and entertaining. 🎇
  • Celebrate diversity – include cultural pieces, personal stories, and perspectives from everyone in our community. 🍡
  • Add humour and relatability – memes, cartoons, and light-hearted takes on student life (physics jokes encouraged). 6️⃣7️⃣
  • Creative design – make the magazine visually appealing so people actually want to pick it up. 🌌
  • Collaborative space – welcome contributions from anyone who wants to share writing, photography, or artwork. 👥

I want our magazine to feel like a reflection of the people who make our department interesting, clever, and fun- a space where voices overlap, ideas superpose, and creativity spreads like waves. 🌊
