Melis Nurluoglu
Hello everyone!
My name is Melis, and I’m a second-year Chemical Engineering student. Having been part of the Imperial College Finance Society for the past year, I’ve been inspired by its collaborative atmosphere and the opportunities it provides for students to explore and excel in finance. I’m very excited to announce my candidacy for Finance Associate and to contribute to the planning and creative process behind the society’s initiatives.
Over the summer, I completed an internship at an investment firm, where I gained hands-on experience analysing funds, venture capital projects, and investment portfolios. I also had the opportunity to speak with investors and startup founders, building valuable connections and learning how strategic financial decisions can drive innovation and sustainable growth. I’m eager to bring my experience, along with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, to the ICFS team.
If elected, I aim to:
-
Build stronger industry connections by coordinating speaker sessions, firm visits, and networking opportunities that expose members to different sectors of finance.
-
Organise workshops and career panels with small competitions to make it interactive and provide both practical skills and professional insight.
-
Promote interdisciplinary participation, encouraging students from all academic backgrounds to explore how their skills can thrive in finance.
I’m passionate about using my technical background and finance experience to expand ICFS’s corporate network, attract high-calibre speakers, and deliver interactive events that connect members directly with industry professionals. I’d be honoured to have your support to make the upcoming year both impactful and memorable.
All the best,
Melis
