Hey, I'm Claire and I'm a second year Biochemist 🧪

Last year I absolutely loved python, pymol and R in uni and beyond and would love to plan events this year so everyone can feel supported in growing their computational skills- whether you're just starting out or you're already coding the new alphafold.

I have many ideas for possible events, including numerous coding/bioinformatics workshops, and will often signpost to other opportunities to upskill and challenge yourself. I'm experienced with outreach to experts/professors (and I have a few from UCL, Cambridge and other institutions in mind) so I would also aim to set up a few interesting lectures/talks to attend, so you can hear about new career paths/projects and meet unique people to look up to 🙂. I'd also like to set up workshop opportunities for people to propose and jumpstart their own comp bio projects so that those who need a team can find one, and those who want project experience can be of help.

In terms of social events, a fun quiz or movie night also wouldn't hurt.
