Siobhan Oghughu
Hey, my name is Siobhan, I’m a third-year Medical Biosciences student and I am pleased to be running for the role of Vice Chair. 😁
Computational biology is a rapidly growing field that goes hand-in-hand with other forms of biology, such as wet-lab or field biology, allowing scientists to use computational methods to gain further insights on biological findings. Whether coming from a more computational or a more biological background, or even neither, I believe CompBioSoc should be a place where us students can unite around this shared interest of ours and learn more about it from those working in the field. 🤓 I hope to be able to assist in the society in organising events that increase skills and awareness in computational biology.
If elected, I would be sure to work diligently in providing high-quality workshops, talks, journal clubs, and in the holding of the 2026 CompBio Conference. Thanks for reading my manifesto, and I would be honoured to be your Vice Chair! 💻🧬
