Endocrinology: Academic Officer

Candidate: Chia Hsuan (Annie) Hsieh
Position: Academic Officer

My interest in endocrinology grew from seeing a loved one struggle for years with undiagnosed hormone-related health issues. This experience made me deeply curious about the intricate balance of hormones and their often-overlooked impact on disease. Endocrinology is an intellectually rewarding yet underappreciated field, and I hope to make it more engaging, accessible, and inspiring for students across all years.

As Academic Officer, I aim to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where curiosity meets clarity: a space to learn, discuss, and grow together.

My goals:
Enhance Academic Learning

  • Run high-yield revision sessions linking core concepts to clinical relevance.

  • Deliver interactive, case-based workshops integrating physiology, pathology, and management.

  • Collaborate with tutors and clinicians to share cutting-edge endocrine research and practice.

Bridge the Pre-Clinical and Clinical Gap

  • Launch “From Lecture to Ward” sessions to show how theory applies in placements.

  • Create a mentorship scheme connecting junior and senior students.

Make Learning Accessible

  • Build an online hub with notes, practice questions, and recorded sessions.

  • Publish “Endocrine Insights” — monthly research and clinical updates.

Promote Collaboration

  • Partner with other medical societies for joint events.

  • Encourage journal clubs and clinical case discussions.

With strong leadership experience and a passion for clear, inclusive learning, I’ll bring enthusiasm, reliability, and creativity to this role.

Vote Chia Hsuan (Annie) for Academic Officer.
