Kaanchana Sivamaran
Hi Everyone! I'm Kaanchana, a second-year Chemical Engineering student who loves bringing order to chaos. I believe it is important to bring structure to turn ambitious ideas into practical plans while ensuring that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.
My interest in Economics began with my passion for understanding how things connect and how complex systems work. Engineering taught me the physical processes, and economics showed me the human and social systems that shaped our world. It was then that I realized that Economics and Engineering are two sides of the same coin: a drive to find solutions to challenging problems.
As Operations Manager, my focus will be on creating efficient and reliable systems so that every project runs smoothly:
My key aims are:
- Efficient Management - A centralized event planning system using simple progress-tracking tools with shared checklists and deadlines to encourage transparency and efficiency for better team coordination among committee members.
- Improved Internal Communication - Ensuring consistent and precise updates on our priorities and progress, as well as meeting summaries, so everyone is well-informed at all times.
- Inclusivity and Well-being in Operations - Create an environment where the society's internal operations prioritise members' well-being by creating clear communication channels so members feel comfortable when voicing their concerns or suggestions.
- Supporting Event Operations - For coordination between committee members to ensure that the event is efficient and successful.
Whether or not I’m elected, I'm committed to supporting the society’s growth and being an active member of its community.
