Women in SET: IWD Officer

I am excited to apply for the Women in SET: International Women’s Day Officer position, as it perfectly aligns with my passion for promoting women’s visibility, leadership, and collaboration across science and technology. My academic and professional journey has always centered on connecting disciplines and empowering others through shared purpose. At Columbia University, where I studied Neuroscience and Mathematics, I led a research lab project that strengthened my ability to coordinate teams, communicate ideas clearly, and motivate others toward a common goal. Alongside my studies, I helped organize events through the Women in STEM Club, bringing together undergraduates and PhD students to foster mentorship, dialogue, and inclusion within the scientific community.

In my final year, I deepened my engagement with innovation and industry through biotechnology courses and a project with Blackstone, experiences that taught me how to translate complex ideas into accessible narratives which is a skill I now apply in advocacy and communication. After Columbia, I pursued law with a focus on patents, driven by a fascination with how innovation moves from research to application, and the structural barriers women often face in that process.

Now completing a master’s in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Biotechnology at Imperial, I’m eager to design and lead impactful events for International Women’s Day. I want to create a campaign that celebrates women’s achievements, highlights diverse voices, and inspires the next generation of innovators — while strengthening community across Imperial’s STEM network.
