I would like to be the chem Soc events officer because I love meeting new people. Moreover, I definitely enjoyed meeting lots of chemistry students at every chem Soc event I attended this year! As a first year student, I hope I can get to know lots of you over the next few years!

Running a club at the local primary school supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds has equipped me with the organisational skills to thrive as your second events officer. I enjoy collaborating with other people such as when I was part of my sixth form’s leadership committee, and have good teamwork skills. I am determined to help organise lots of fun socials and more practically, academic events. I have enjoyed volunteering at cancer research every week for two years, proving my commitment to helping plan and host lots of events.

I’d love to help arrange academic seminars and career workshops because I believe that networking is extremely important to prepare us for a future career. I hope to also introduce more events such as bake sales and monthly social events like quiz nights and games nights. I aim to make chem Soc events useful to everyone academically in all years of the course and also bring everyone together in every year group. Thank you for reading this and I hope you vote for me!
