Mental Health: Campaigns Officer

I aim to make Imperial’s wellbeing support more visible, personal, and easier to access for every student, not just those who already know where to look. Imperial offers a wide range of services to support personal difficulties and neurodiversity alike. However, some of these services are still underused simply because people don’t know they exist or where to look for the,. My goal is to help every student find the right kind of support for their needs, rather than being directed to the most popular services.

If elected, I will create a storytelling-based social media campaign that shares real student experiences to highlight different mental health journeys. These stories shouldn't just be inspiring and glorifying services; they should detail what challenges they faced along the way so students can have a better picture of what "mental health support" actually is. I hope this will make wellbeing feel more relatable and help others see where to turn for help.

I will also work closely with departmental Wellbeing Officers to promote in-person workshops and events more effectively through their course newsletters and student group chats. In addition to Mental Health Awareness Month campaigns taking place in May, I also want to focus on the winter months when many students experience low mood, stress, or seasonal depression. By increasing support during this time and improving visibility throughout the year. #

Let's build a culture where finding help is the easiest part of the journey to a better mental wellness!
