International Students: Community Engagement Officer

Moving abroad changes everything: your surroundings, your language, your comfort zone. But it shouldn’t take away your voice. As a third-year international student, I know how it feels to adapt to a completely new environment, to find your place, and to build a sense of home. I’m running for Community Engagement Officer because I want every international student at Imperial to feel empowered, supported in their goals, and equipped to succeed.

Through volunteering and working with student groups, I’ve seen how much difference it makes when students feel genuinely welcomed and understood. My goal is to make that sense of community stronger and more accessible for everyone.

If elected, I will:

  • Unite cultural and departmental societies to create experiences that celebrate our diversity and build a stronger, more connected Imperial community.
  • Encourage international students to engage with local projects that celebrate diversity and create shared spaces of learning and connection beyond campus.
  • Create opportunities for international students to connect with alumni from similar backgrounds, providing personal support, career insights, and a stronger sense of community.
  • Work closely with the International Student Support team to enhance existing services and create new initiatives that ensure international students receive consistent support at every stage of their university journey.

  • Represent international student voices in Union and College discussions, ensuring our perspectives are heard in key decisions.

Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto. Your support would truly help make a positive impact on the international student experience at Imperial.
