International Students: Campaigns Officer

Hey everyone! I’m Jean Lin, and I’m an international student from China studying Economics, Finance & Data Science. I know what it’s like to start fresh in a new country—Excitement along with nervousness. There are challenging times: missing home and family, cannot catch up words from teachers and schoolmates, can’t understand the slang, feeling miserable in a new city and country. All these are my true experiences, and I’m here to help you overcome this moment.

That’s why I’m running to be your International Students Campaign Officer.

If elected, I’ll:

Build stronger community ties through events🍾— Organize cultural exchange social events to help meet new people and learn about new cultures, celebrate traditional holidays from different cultural backgrounds, and organize more food-based events (eg, Culture Cuisines Fair) to help international and home students connect.
Improve access to information 📌— Make practical guides and workshops on visas, housing, and UK life more visible and easier to understand. I’ll also launch a mentorship scheme to help new students get more familiar with London.
Champion inclusivity 🌍— Work to ensure all campaigns and societies actively welcome international voices and celebrate our diversity year-round. Ensure the real voice of international students is represented and heard.

Imperial’s global community is one of its greatest strengths. I’ll make sure every international student feels seen and supported—from the first day to the last.
