Nafeesah Ahmed-Adedoja
Hi! I’m Nafeesah, a Master's in Public Health Student. I am running to be your BME Welfare Officer because I believe representation should not just exist but flourish in every space.
Throughout my undergraduate degree, I led and supported several cultural awareness events that celebrated heritage, encouraged dialogue, and built a strong sense of community. I have witnessed how such initiatives can really transform the student experience and help people feel more recognized, valued, and connected. One of my favorite events to organize was a Wellness Fair that incorporated various cultures, faiths and identities (with great food of course!).
If elected as your BME Welfare Officer, I will focus on:
- Mental Health and Belonging: Creating safe spaces for open conversation about being BME at Imperial, while strengthening culturally inclusive mental health resources. I’d also love to host wellbeing drop-in sessions where you can share your experiences and ideas with me directly.
- Representation & Celebration: Organize more speaker panels, mixers, and cultural nights that empower BME students, and celebrate our diversity.
- Accountability & Partnership: Partnering with other liberation and community networks to host intersectional wellbeing and cultural events that celebrate identity in all its forms.
I’m passionate about making Imperial a place where everyone feels they belong. With your support, we can ensure our voices are heard, our cultures are celebrated, and our wellbeing is prioritized.
