Hey everyone! I’m Jean Lin, a first-year EFDS student, and I’m running for Council Representative (UG Business).
I believe that policies only matter when they truly reflect the voices of the people they serve—us, the students. For business school students, we experience heavier workloads due to balancing between multiple objectives: from exploring careers to maintaining high academic performance. I truly understand how this feels.
As your Council Rep, I’ll:
- Be your voice in key decisions 🗣️— From tuition fees to access initiatives, I’ll ensure first-year perspectives are part of every conversation. As a first-year student, I will put in more effort in exploring the potential possibilities of each decision. With this unique perspective, I represent one-third of the undergraduate business school students and make sure our voice is heard in every possible decision.
- Push for fairness and inclusiveness 🤝— For this year, about 50% of students are coming from different countries. As an international student, I’ll advocate for policies that support equity across all different cultural and social backgrounds, offering a unique angle from non-locals.
- Build transparency and accountability 📢— I’ll share council updates openly and in a timely manner. Why is this important? People’s voices matter, and it is important to keep you informed of what’s being discussed and how your feedback shapes policy.
I want to make sure our ideas don’t stop in committee rooms—they become real change for students. Let’s make our voices count!
