Hey everyone! I’m Jean Lin, a first-year EFDS student, and I’m running to be your Year One Academic Representative.
From adapting new teaching styles to balancing workloads... Yes! I know how stressful it is to finish all the problem sets, pre-reading tasks, exam preparations ...while spring week applications and society events are ongoing. I’m here to solve it.
As your Academic Rep, I’ll:
- Coordinate across event clashes 💥— I believe everyone has experienced two events clash and cannot decide which one to go to. To solve that, I’ll coordinate across different events held each day and update the latest information (about the event content, including slides, recording, and notes). Help you get the most use out of every event, even if you don’t attend them yourself!
- Improve academic communication 🧑🤝👨—Feeling the lecture is too fast-paced? Don’t worry! Whatever concerns you have, whether it’s about coursework, exam formats, or teaching quality, tell me and I’ll work closely with program teams to ensure feedback is transmitted clearly and your expectation is considered.
- Represent your voice 🗣️— Sometimes people feel shy to directly talk about their issues, or just some details that you notice randomly. Whatever it is, it should be heard! I’ll actively collect opinions through short surveys and casual drop-ins to ensure your views are heard.
My goal is simple: Support you in getting the best use of university resources. Together, we can make the university experience smoother and more rewarding for everyone.
VOTE Jean to be your Academic Rep!
