Postgraduate Taught Academic & Welfare Officer (Business)

Imperial College Business School should feel like a connected community, not a collection of separate programmes. Too often, postgraduate students stay within their own departments and rarely interact with peers from other MScs. As PGT Academic and Welfare Officer, I want to change that. We are a school that attracts people from every corner of the world, but global does not only mean international, it means united. I will work to create more shared spaces, cross-programme events, and opportunities for students to engage beyond their courses. A stronger sense of belonging starts with simple things: collaboration, conversation, and community.

Having served as the Univeristy Education Commitee (UEC) Representative, where I helped establish the International Students Focus Committee, I worked on initiatives addressing key issues such as awarding gaps, barriers created by language and technology, and challenges surrounding exceptional circumstances. As Welfare Officer for the African Society and a Wellbeing Ambassador for the Business School, I have worked closely with students to improve welfare support and strengthen peer connection. These experiences taught me that effective change begins with listening and acting on the needs that matter most.

Academically, we need to be honest; the current system is overwhelming. With deadlines, group projects, and job applications already on our plates, navigating over four different platforms should not be another burden. I will advocate for a streamlined and integrated academic environment that simplifies how we learn and communicate, giving students the clarity, time, and focus to excel.

Let’s Build Bridges, Not Boundaries.
