Throughout our time at University, we will face many challenges, testing both our knowledge and perseverance, especially in a course like Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Therefore, it is more important than ever to take care of our wellbeing alongside our studies. With the great pressure that comes with exams and coursework, it is imperative to stay on top of things, and this is why I would like to do my part to help in this cohort, as wellbeing representative.
As someone with experience as both an engineering mentor and a prefect, I have been able to gain a vital insight into the appropriate course of action when it comes to maintaining a healthy balance between work and wellbeing, with the most important thing being to alleviate stress in any way that you can. If I am elected for this role, I would look forward to ensuring the most beneficial actions are taken to prevent stress build up within my peers, and to always being ready to listen and report on any problems that the cohort may be facing.
A wellbeing representative should serve as a reliable point of contact, someone that is ready to act to support those around them when it is needed the most and to the best of their abilities. I hope to continue to display and embody these core values that would help to build a positive and beneficial environment for those around me, throughout our time at Imperial.
