Lynetta Wang
We culture cells, not stress.
Hi everyone! I’m Lynetta, and I’m running to be your Year 1 Biochemistry Wellbeing Rep :)
I want to make sure that amidst all the academic talks, we have spaces to breathe, connect, and actually enjoy the experience. We learn together, and grow together.
🌍 A bit about me
I grew up in China, the US, and Ireland, so being open-minded and bringing people from different backgrounds together is something I really value. I’d love to help create a community where everyone feels supported and comfortable being themselves.
✨ My plans:
🫖 Active Listening
I’ll hold weekly drop-ins. There's no agenda, just a safe, welcoming space to chat, vent, or take a breather over tea and snacks. I’ll also run short anonymous check-ins every two weeks and share updates on what’s been raised, so you’ll actually see your feedback making change happen.
🌿 Social Events
We’ve started strong with the treasure hunt and pub quiz, and I want to keep the energy going! I’ll work with Biochem Soc to host low-pressure socials with free food and drinks. Things like Biochem Mixers, board game & bubble tea nights, and coffee meetups in Hyde Park to build friendships across and over the years.
💡Pushing For Change
Advocating for more available lecture halls to refresh our minds with more constant change of scenery between lectures, improved common room facilities, even a noticeboard or shared space to celebrate birthdays, milestones, and achievements outside of academics. You name it.
